Whether you need to consolidate block storage, support applications that don’t require low-latency flash and NVMe, take advantage of intelligent data management, or scale capacity to keep pace with data growth, the PowerVault ME5 is designed to meet the growing needs of your business.

The flexibility of the PowerVault ME5 offers multiple protocols, supports a wide range of drive types and capacities, scales up to 8PB of capacity, is validated with Dell PowerEdge servers (supporting 16G), and is delivered to you with all-inclusive software so you get the data services you need to store, manage, and protect your data. Using fast Intel Xeon processors, PowerVault ME5 storage enables dual-active controller architecture, 12GB/sec read and 10GB/sec write throughput, and uses 12Gb SAS back-end protocol for rapid capacity expansion.

The two non-high-density ME5 base arrays start at 2U, and the high-density ME5 arrays start at 5U. The base models all support dual-active controllers, each controller includes 16 GB of memory. Optional ME5 expansion enclosures for expansion up to 336 drives or 8 PB. PowerVault ME412 and ME424 expansion enclosures are only available with the ME5012 or ME5024 base arrays. Workloads The ME484 high-density expansion enclosure is supported with any ME5 base array. A wide range of SSD, 10K and NLSAS drives available (including FIPS-certified SEDs).
